The work involves closing the intersection of London Road and Front Street for three full days, followed by the closure of Front Street between London Road and Exmouth Street.
The work is expected to last until late September, weather permitting.
The project, awarded to Cope Construction, includes extensive milling, asphalt recycling and railway crossing improvements prior to paving.
The Centennial Park parking lot will be accessible at Nelson Street and access will be maintained to businesses in the area, except when work is being completed in the immediate area.
No through traffic will be permitted for the duration of the project.
Motorists are advised to follow all traffic control signage and to drive in a manner that respects the health and safety of road crews.
