The City of Sarnia has announced the return of Sounds of Summer, the long-running tradition of free live music in local parks. Running from June through August, the series will feature a variety of performers and musical genres, with shows taking place Monday to Thursday at 7 p.m.
Now in its 34th year, the Sounds of Summer series will rotate through five venues across the city. Monday concerts will be held at the Canatara Bandshell, followed by Tuesday shows at the Seaway Kiwanis Pavilion, Wednesdays at Kenwick Park, and Thursdays alternating between Paul Blundy Park and Germain Park.
“Sounds of Summer has become a tradition people look forward to year after year. It’s not just about the music, it’s about enjoying our public spaces, listening to local artists, and connecting with the community,” said Steve Henschel, the City’s communications manager.
The 2025 series kicks off with Scottish Night at the Suncor Agora in Centennial Park on Tuesday, June 3. The opening week also includes performances by Work in Progress at Kenwick Park on Wednesday, June 4; JPD Review at Paul Blundy Park on Thursday, June 5; and Cassie Noble at Germain Park, also on Thursday, June 5.
In total, more than 50 concerts are planned, offering a range of musical styles including country, pop, blues, rock, and folk. Concerts are free to attend and begin at 7 p.m. In the event of cancellations due to weather, efforts will be made to reschedule affected shows at the end of the season.
