No one was injured and damage is pegged at $100,000 after emergency crews responded to a structure fire in south Sarnia in the early hours, Wednesday, officials say.

Sarnia Fire Rescue Services responded around 4:30 a.m. to a report of a structure fire in the 200 block of Vidal Street South.

"Upon arrival, Sarnia firefighters found flames venting from a first-floor rear bedroom of a two-storey structure, which were quickly extinguished,” a news release stated. “The cause of the fire will remain undetermined, as two potential ignition sources could not be eliminated.

“Damage was estimated to be around $100,000. There were no injuries to report.”

Sarnia Police said Vidal Street was closed between Talfourd and Devine streets while crews attended the blaze.
