Lambton County Archives will hold the final instalment of its Preservation Lab workshop series on Wednesday, June 18, focusing on the basics of digitization.

Running from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the archives in Wyoming, the free workshop aims to equip participants with foundational skills to help preserve family history, photographs, and important documents through digital means.

“Digitization helps protect original documents from wear while also improving access to these records,” said Nicole Aszalos, Archivist/Supervisor of Lambton County Archives. “The workshop will cover the basics of digitization and teach participants how to create digital copies of their own records.”

Topics will include recommended file formats and different methods for storing, accessing, and using digital images. The workshop is limited to 10 participants and requires advance registration.

Those interested can register online at lambtonarchives.ca.
