Crisis situation resolved at Sarnia Bay: Police

The Sarnia Police Service says officers were able to successfully resolve a situation involving an individual in crisis at the city’s waterfront, Saturday.

A heavy police presence was noted near Sarnia Bay area, Saturday evening, and the public was being asked to avoid the area.

“At 5:50 p.m., the Sarnia Police received a call regarding a person in crisis operating a motor vehicle,” a news release noted. “The vehicle was located positioned nosed-up to the waters edge and the vehicle was secured in position by officers on scene with the use of police vehicles.

“Police began negotiating with the male party and he was later successfully apprehended, without incident, at 8 p.m.” police added. “Sarnia Police were assisted by members of Lambton EMS and Sarnia Fire and Rescue to bring this matter to a successful conclusion.”
