A local car club with a mission of supporting children will be inducted into the Canadian Street Rodding Hall of Fame this fall.

Sarnia Street Machines is a 70-member group of classic car, truck and hotrod enthusiasts devoted to raising money for Pathways Health Centre for Children and the MS Society of Canada.

Since 2005, it has raised more than $230,000 for Pathways.

The Hall of Fame recognizes those who make a significant contribution to street rodding in Canada.

The club is being honoured for its community work and attracting thousands to national meets in Centennial Park in 1998 and 2000.

Only a single person or organization is inducted annually and the Sarnia club is only the eighth organization to be recognized.
