When I talk to people in Sarnia–Lambton, there’s one thing that comes up more than any other: the cost of living. Groceries, rent, childcare, and housing are eating into every dollar. Seniors are worried. Young families are struggling. People on fixed incomes are feeling forgotten.
That’s why I’m proud to run with a Liberal team that is focused on practical, immediate relief. This isn’t about grand promises. It’s about real support for working Canadians — right now.
Mark Carney’s housing plan is the most ambitious we’ve seen in decades. It includes building 500,000 affordable homes a year, removing the GST for first-time buyers on homes under $1 million, cutting red tape, and investing in co-op and non-profit housing. We will also expand housing construction using Canadian materials like softwood lumber, creating jobs in forestry and construction at the same time.
But affordability is about more than housing. It’s about the day-to-day. The Liberals are already expanding $10 per day childcare, delivering dental care for millions, and now introducing a national pharmacare plan to cover essential medications. We are also scrapping the carbon tax and replacing it with targeted climate incentives that won’t increase costs for families.
As someone who ran a small business, I know how tight margins can be. I know what it means to budget for groceries and payroll at the same time. These policies are not abstract — they are designed to help people like the ones I’ve served my entire career.
Our team is ready with smart, cost-saving policies. I want to be your advocate to ensure Sarnia–Lambton benefits from every single one of them. And if the Liberals form government, we will be well-positioned to bring that investment directly to Sarnia-Lambton-Bkejwanong.
